Mad Men is not a show known for lasting love.

Few begin 1960 in love with the same person by 1970.

There is a notable exception.

Creepy, weird, altogether unpleasant little boy Glen Bishop.

From beginning to end, Glen has eyes for only one girl.

She just so happens to be the mother of his best friend.

Given that Betty had shown she had no qualms about cheating on Henry, she may have gone on to have an affair with an adult Glen Bishop in the 70s after he returned from Vietnam. She would have taken pity on a tortured soul who went to combat for the very reason of impressing someone like her.

This was not to be.

Betty Draper dies sometime in 1971, leaving Glen Bishop to come home to a grave.
