Betty and Don’s wedding is fairly easy to visualize.
A picture-perfect 1950s couple who look like the bride and groom at the top of the cake. The Drapers marry in a traditional and simple church service with the only abnormality being that no one from the groom’s side is present.
There are no garish displays of wealth, only the celebration of two young people in love and starting their lives together.
Don Draper and his second (legally third) wife Megan do not elicit that image of postcard matrimony. This is a rich older man marrying his secretary and the romance of their love story is lost on everyone but themselves.
They could have married flying first class to Montreal or taking a cab to New York City Hall. Were there a hundred guests or none at all?
