No matter how much Don’s life was falling apart, he always found time for the movies.

He went on the company dime to see almost every new release, something he likely told Sterling Cooper would “inspire” him at work. In truth, movies resonated with Don in a way that no other artistic medium could. New music felt so distant from his generation, and plays that Megan loved were pretentious to him. Movies though? Movies were the real escape.

Flickering celluloid was a chance to understand not just the 1960s but himself.

These are what I believe to be Don Draper’s favorite movies of the 1960s.
